The Speakers Icon Is Missing From Windows 10 System Tray

The Speakers icon is present at the bottom right corner of the screen by default on a newly installed Windows 10 operating system. You can use it to adjust the volume of the speakers up and down or mute them. The section where the Speakers icon is located is called the System Tray where other applications' icons are also located. The System Tray icons serve as shortcuts to the settings or preferences of the applications they represent. There are many possible reasons why the Speakers icon would be missing from the System Tray from having no sound drivers installed or no sound adapter at all which are unlikely on modern computers. Another obvious reason why the Speakers icon is missing is if it was set not to show in the System Tray.

The Speakers icon is not showing in the Windows 10 System Tray.

Here are the steps to set the Speakers icon to appear in the System Tray of the Windows 10 operating system.

1. Right-click on any free area of the Windows 10 Taskbar and choose TASKBAR SETTINGS option.

2. Scroll down the Taskbar window by using the scroller on the right edge until you reach the "Notification area" section.

3. Click the SELECT WHICH ICONS APPEAR ON THE TASKBAR link.

4. Click the switch button labeled "Volume" to turn it on.

5. Click the X button that is located at the top right corner of the Taskbar window to close it.
