Remove Password Of Password Protected Microsoft Office Word 2007 File

The Microsoft Office Word 2007 is part of the Microsoft Office productivity suite along with other software and has been around for a very long time. It is one of the most used word processors with other rivals such as the OpenOffice Writer. The MS Office Word 2007 is rich in features to compose a professionally written document which can be printed later or use in a projected presentation. You can save an MS Office Word 2007 document with a password for privacy so that only you can open it or people whom you gave permission to access the document. You can also remove the password if in case you want to send the document for public access or for any other reasons.

Here are the steps to remove the password of a password protected Microsoft Office Word 2007 document. Please do note that this does not apply to document files where you do not know their password to open them in the first place.

1. Open the password protected document file with its correct password, then click the OFFICE button that is located at the top left corner of the Microsoft Office Word 2007 window, choose SAVE AS option, and then click on WORD DOCUMENT option.


2. Click the TOOLS button of the Save As dialogue window and click on GENERAL OPTIONS... to open the General Options window.


3. Hit the DEL key or the BACKSPACE key of the keyboard to remove the masked password in the "Password to open:" field box.


4. Click the OK button.


5. Finally, click the SAVE button to save the document without any password.
