The File Explorer of the Windows 10, which is known as Windows Explorer on older versions of the Windows operating system like Windows XP, is the software used to manage and navigate through folders and files. The Windows 10 File Explorer has a new feature called Quick Access that lists the folders and files that you recently opened so that you can easily access them instead of going through many folders again and again. By default, the File Explorer opens the Quick Access section instead of the This PC section that shows all the available drives on the computer. You can set the File Explorer to open the This PC instead of the Quick Access especially if you already set the File Explorer not to record your history. Directly opening the Quick Access is of no use anymore if you already set the File Explorer not to record the frequently visited folders and recently opened files.
Here are the steps to set the File Explorer of Windows 10 to directly open the This PC right away.
1. Open the File Explorer, right-click the QUICK ACCESS on its left pane and choose OPTIONS to open the Folder Options dialogue window.
2. Click the pull down menu labeled "Open File Explorer to:" and choose THIS PC option.
3. Click OK button.
