Set Internet Explorer As Default Browser On Windows 10

The Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) software has been the default web browser on Windows operating systems until Windows 10. The Microsoft Edge is now the default web browser on Windows 10 even though the MSIE is still preinstalled on it. The Internet Explorer is still needed on the Windows 10 because there are still dependencies on its engine and other settings. You can still set the Internet Explorer as the default web browser on Windows 10 so that links from software will automatically open in it. The Internet Explorer is still the faster web browser and there are still many webpages that are more compatible on it.

Here are the steps to set the Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) software as the default web browser on Windows 10 operating system.

1. Right-click on the START button that is usually located at the bottom left corner of the screen, and then click on SETTINGS option.

2. Click the APPS category of the Windows Settings window.

3. Click the DEFAULT APPS category on the left pane of the Settings window.

4. Scroll down the right pane by using the scroll bar on the right edge of the Settings window until you find the Web browser section.

5. Click the MICROSOFT EDGE under the Web browser section. (In your case, you might see a different web browser like Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)

6. Click on the INTERNET EXPLORER on the list of installed web browsers.

7. Click the SWITCH ANYWAY link if prompted.
