The Google Chrome software is one of the most used web browsers on desktop computers and mobile devices. By default, the Home icon on its Toolbar is hidden and you need to enable it from its Settings to show it. Hitting the Home icon will send you to the generic Google search page, thus, it is like clearing the Google Chrome window. On the other hand, you can set the Home icon to send you to a custom web address when you hit it. For example, you want to be directed to the sign on page of your e-mail account right away every time you hit the Home icon. This action is just the same with your bookmarked web addresses showing on the Bookmarks Bar but the Home icon has the omnipresence.
Here are the steps to show the Home icon on the Toolbar of the Google Chrome version 84, the steps are just the same or similar to fairly older or newer versions.
1. Click the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL icon that is located at the top right corner of the Google Chrome window that looks like three horizontal dots arranged vertically, and then click on SETTINGS option.

2. Click the APPEARANCE category on the left pane. (You need to maximize the Google Chrome window if the left pane is not present.)

3. Click the switch labeled "Show home button" to turn it on.

The Home icon is now showing on the Google Chrome toolbar.
