The Google Chrome software is a cross-platform web browser developed by none other than Google and it was first released in 2008 for Microsoft Windows. The Google Chrome browser capabilities can be extended by using extensions also known as add-ons on other web browsers. There are many kind of extensions that you can install, from extensions that will help you download videos, provide added security features, password managers, and so on. Web browser extensions are actually just small software modules which are usually just source codes. For the Google Chrome web browser, you can get the extensions in the Chrome Web Store which are offered for free and there are also paid ones. The Chrome Web Store will show available items based on your Chrome browser language and location.
Here are the steps to install an extension on Google Chrome web browser version 84.0 for Windows.
1. Go to Chrome Web Store by typing https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en into the web address bar of the Google Chrome software and hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.
2. In the search box labeled "Search the store", type the kind of extensions that you want to install or simply choose from the ones that are recommended. In this case, type screen capture to find extensions that will give us the capability to take screen shot of the webpages. Hit the ENTER key on the keyboard afterwards.
3. Choose among the extensions from the search result that you would like to install, in this case, click the ADD TO CHROME button for the extensions named Screenshoter.
4. Click the ADD EXTENSION button to confirm the installation.
The extension will download and install by itself.
5. The icon of the newly installed extensions will appear at the right end of the Google Chrome toolbar with a pop up windows informing you that it was successfully added. Click the X button of the pop up window to close it.
6. To check on the newly installed extensions, click the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL icon that looks like three dots arranged vertically located at the top right corner of the Google Chrome window, click MORE TOOLS option, and then click on EXTENSIONS option.
The Screenshoter extension was fully installed and enabled by default.
