The Google Chrome software which is also based on the Chromium engine is one of the most used browsers for desktop computers as well as on mobile devices. Links on software installed on the computer other than browsers will open to the default browser set on the computer. For example, most software nowadays directs their help documentation to online resources instead of pulling up files locally. Therefore, if you set the Google Chrome as the default browser on the computer and try to access the help documentation of software like KMPlayer, it will automatically launch the Google Chrome browser and open the help documentation in it. You can always remove the Google Chrome as the default browser on Windows 8.1 if you do not want this setup anymore by simply reverting to the Internet Explorer which is the pre-installed browser.
