Backup Or Export Opera Bookmarks (Windows)

Other than the Speed Dial feature of the Opera browser software where you can save web addresses of websites so that you do not have to remember each of them, you can also save them in the Bookmarks section of the browser. The Bookmarks is simply the equivalent of the contacts section of the cellphone where you can save the telephone numbers of people instead of memorizing each of them. As time goes by, your Bookmarks list will grow just like the list of telephone numbers saved on your cellphone's contact section, therefore, it is necessary to make a backup of your Bookmarks from time to time. In this way, you do not have to worry about losing them when the browser becomes inoperable, or if you need to reinstall it, or if you have to reformat the hard drive of your computer.

Here are the steps to backup or export the Bookmarks list of the Opera version 68. The steps are just the same or similar to the older or newer versions of the Opera browser.

1. Click the OPERA icon (or the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL button) located on the top left corner of the Opera browser window.

2. Choose the BOOKMARKS option, and then click EXPORT BOOKMARKS... option.

3. The file name for the backed up Bookmarks will be named bookmarks appended by the current date. You can change the file name or leave it as it is. The file will be saved in the My Documents or Documents folder depending on your operating system, or you can also change the location. Click the SAVE button.
