The Bookmarks section of the Google Chrome browser is where you can save the web addresses of the websites that you frequently visit or might want to go back in the future, in this way, you do not have to memorize each of their web addresses or keep on typing them every time you access them. This is equivalent to the contacts list of your cellular phone where the numbers of your family and friends are saved. In this way, you do not have to memorize them as well as you do not have to type their numbers in each time you want to call them. As time goes by, your bookmarks list may grow in number and it is a very good practice to make a backup copy of them from time to time so that you can always retrieve them in case your Google Chrome browser must be reinstalled.
Here are the steps to backup or export the Bookmarks of Google Chrome browser version 70. The steps are similar to the older or newer versions.
1. Click on the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL button that looks like three dots arranged vertically located on the top right corner of the Google Chrome window, then choose BOOKMARKS option, and then click on BOOKMARK MANAGER option. (Alternatively, you can press the CTRL key and the SHIFT key at the same time, while pressing them down, hit the letter O key.)

2. Click the ORGANIZE button that also looks like three dots arranged vertically located on the top right area of the Bookmarks page.

3. Click the EXPORT BOOKMARKS option.

4. The Bookmarks file will be named bookmarks appended with the current date and it will be saved in the My Documents or Documents folder depending on your operating system. You can change the Bookmark's file name and or change the folder where to save it. Click the SAVE button afterwards.
