The Google Chrome browser is one of the most popular browsers on the internet and its continued development offers abundant features. There are features that you can turn on and off to make it run faster such as enabling the "Fast tab/window close" feature, which is still experimental on version 70. The good thing with the Google Chrome browser is that you can already utilize the experimental features so that you can experience them before they become regular features or before they actually get removed because they deemed to be useless. The experimental features cannot be accessed through the Settings page but can be accessed through a backdoor. Enabling the "Fast tab/window close" experimental feature will run the onunload Javascript handler independently of the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Here are the steps to enable the "Fast tab/window close" experimental feature of the Google Chrome browser.
1. Type chrome://flags into the web address box of the Google Chrome, then hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.
2. Scroll down the page until you get to the "Fast tab/window close" item.
3. Click the pull down menu on the right side of the "Fast tab/window close" item and choose ENABLED option.
4. Click the RELAUCH NOW button for the changes to take effect.
