The desktop background also popularly known as wallpaper is the picture that appears on the desktop view which can be changed to your personal picture to make your computer more personal. The wallpaper does not only beautify the desktop view but it will also tell about your personality, your story, so forth and so on. Since the wallpaper is a picture, this means that it also consumes system resources on the computer because pictures have bigger file size, thus it takes quite a space on the memory. On the other hand, newer computers now have higher memory, therefore, the memory space that the wallpaper consumes on the memory is already ignorable.
Here are the steps to use own picture as wallpaper on Windows 8.1.
1. Right-click on the free area of the desktop view and choose PERSONALIZE option.
2. Click the DESKTOP BACKGROUND link.
3. Click the BROWSE... button.
4. Navigate to the folder where your desired personal picture is saved, then click OK button once you have reached the folder.
5. Choose the picture that you desire as your wallpaper and click the SAVE CHANGES button.
