Show Password Protected Windows 8.1 Logon After Screen Saver

Screen savers on LCD monitors are not necessary anymore as it was with the CRT monitors. On old CRT monitors, a static image in the screen can get burnt in permanently that can already be considered a damage on the monitor. Unlike on LCD monitors, there is nothing to burn in that is why screen savers are not necessary anymore on these modern monitors. Other than that, screen savers just wastes energy because they will make the graphics adapter of the computer to work even more. On the other hand, the benefit left for screen savers is to serve as a beautification though for the price of consuming more electricity. Since screen savers activates when you leave the computer idle, it is advisable to activate the password protected logon screen of Windows 8.1 so that no one will be able to access your computer while you are not around.

Here are the steps to show the password protected logon screen of Windows 8.1 after the screen saver goes away.

1. Right-click on any free area of the desktop view and click PERSONALIZE option.

2. Click the SCREEN SAVER icon.

3. Click the pull down menu where you can choose a type of screen saver if there is none chosen yet.

4. Adjust the minutes when you want the screen saver to kick in once you left the computer idle.

5. Click the check box labeled "On resume, display logon screen" to put a check in it.
