The mouse pointer is also called the cursor on Windows operating system environment. The mouse is a basic input device on a PC computer along with the keyboard. The mouse device has an option to make the cursor more visible to the user by adding a trail every time you move it. In my case, I prefer having the mouse pointer trail displayed when I move the mouse because I can easily see where the cursor is currently located in the screen. Many years ago, I was able to download an animated cursor with rainbow colors which is more visible in the screen but I cannot find this one anymore. I hope that Microsoft will include a rainbow cursor as an option in the future versions of the Windows operating system. Of course, the visibility setting of the cursor depends solely on the user and you can easily turn off the mouse pointer trail if need be.
Here are the steps to turn off the mouse pointer trail on Windows 8.1.
1. Right-click on the START button located on the bottom left corner of the screen and choose CONTROL PANEL option.
2. Click the HARDWARE AND SOUND category link.
3. Click the MOUSE under the "Devices and Printers" category.
4. Click the POINTER OPTIONS tab.
5. Click the check box labeled "Display pointer trails" to remove the check in it.
6. Click OK button.
