Adjust Mouse Wheel's Number Of Lines To Scroll On Windows 8.1

The mouse of the computer is one of the external peripherals that is used for input purposes. Modern mouses have the scroll wheel button that is responsible in scrolling a webpage, a document, a picture, or the client area of an application. The scroll wheel button is more convenient to use than the keyboard or the scroll bars when scrolling a page because your hand does not leave the mouse and it only requires a little movement. A little scroll of the mouse wheel is equivalent to a number of lines that a page will move up or down. The mouse settings can be adjusted so that the scroll wheel button will move more lines or even move one screen at a time.

Here are the steps to adjust the settings of the mouse for the scroll wheel on Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click on a free area of the desktop and choose PROPERTIES option.

2. Click the CHANGE MOUSE POINTERS link located on the left hand area.

3. Click the WHEEL tab of the Mouse Properties window.

4. Adjust the number of lines to scroll under the "Vertical Scrolling" category.

5. Click OK button.
