Put Screen Saver Password On Windows XP

The screen savers were invented at the time when the monitors of the computers were CRT (Cathode Ray Tube). The phosphors that emits light in the CRT monitors are not evenly worn down in the long run that causes certain areas of the screen darker. If a certain static image is projected for a very long time in the CRT screen, that image may be burnt into the screen permanently. To solve this problem, the screen saver is used to show random images in the screen when the computer is left idle. Since the CRT monitors are not being used anymore as computer monitors which were replaced by LCD monitors, the screen saver is already a misnomer because its purpose to save the screen is not needed anymore. However, the screen saver can still be used for beautification and as a first line of security. You can can use the screen saver to prevent other people from using your computer when you left it idle by enabling the password feature of the screen saver.

Here are the steps to enable the screen saver password on Windows XP.
