Use Single Click To Open Items On Windows 8.1

You can open an item like a file, folder, or application by double-clicking it with the left-mouse-button or by right-clicking it and choose the OPEN option. On Windows 8.1 as well as with the other Windows operating system, you can set it to use a single click instead to open items. If you want to be able to work faster, using the single clicking of items will be convenient but you will not be able to highlight them normally. Therefore, all of the items that needed double-clicking before will act like as if they are links on webpages because they get underlined when you point at them.

Here are the steps to use single click on items on Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click on the START button and choose CONTROL PANEL option.

2. Click the APPEARANCE AND PERSONALIZATION category link.

3. Click the SPECIFY SINGLE- OR DOUBLE-CLICK TO OPEN link.

4. Click the radio dial labeled "Single-click to open an item (point to select)" to mark it.

5. Click OK button.
