Uninstall Browser Add-On On Windows 8.1

Browser Add-ons are extensions of a browser that adds capability to it such as being able to download videos, take a screen shot of the whole webpage, add a clock to the status bar, and a thousand more. Some people have taken advantage of this feature of the browsers by creating Add-ons that automatically installs to your browser and most especially on your computer, and some are being added as an option when you install or update a software, or even access a website. These kind of Add-ons are malicious in nature and they are very difficult to remove. If the option to remove an Add-on by normal method which is trough the Add-on panel of the browser is not possible because the remove option is grayed out, another way to remove it is through the Programs and Features area of the Windows 8.1 operating system. However, there may be times that uninstalling an Add-on through the Programs and Features area will still not remove the Add-on from the browser even if you were already able to successfully uninstall it from the computer. In cases like these, another way to remove an Add-on is to reset the browser if it has this feature.

Here are the steps to remove a browser Add-on that also installs itself on the computer on Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click on the START button and choose CONTROL PANEL option.


2. Click the UNINSTALL A PROGRAM link under Programs category.


3. Scroll down the "Programs and Features" list until you find the Add-on that you want to uninstall.


4. Click on the Add-on that you want to uninstall to highlight it, which in this case, click the FINDWIDE TOOLBAR by Freshy.


5. Click the UNINSTALL/CHANGE button.


6. Click OK button. (Please be reminded that uninstalling an Add-on from this point on maybe different from the one that you are removing.)
