Restore Windows Firewall Defaults On Windows 8.1

The Windows Firewall is the default firewall of the Windows 8.1 operating system that helps the computer safe by blocking unwanted incoming connections, hackers, and malicious software either through the internet or a network. You can adjust the settings of the Windows Firewall required by your usage and you can always restore it to its default settings. However, restoring the settings to the default settings may stop some applications from working because of the exception you have made before. It is also possible that adjusting settings on the Windows Firewall will make other applications stop working. If in case something went wrong on the way while adjusting the settings of the Windows Firewall, you can always adjust it to its default settings.

Here are the steps to restore the settings of the Windows Firewall to its defaults on Windows 8.1 operating system.

1. Right-click on the START button and click CONTROL PANEL option.


2. Click the SYSTEM AND SECURITY category link.


3. Click WINDOWS FIREWALL category link.


4. Click the RESTORE DEFAULTS link on the left side.


5. Click the RESTORE DEFAULTS button.


6. Click YES button.
