Open Another Instance Of Application On Windows 8.1 (Buttons)

On Windows 8.1 operating system, the Taskbar is very much different from Windows XP. The Windows 8.1 Taskbar is the long horizontal strip usually located in the bottom of the screen that has the START button on its left end and the time on its right end with colorful icons in between. On Windows 8.1, you can pin the icon of an application to the Taskbar and use it to open the application itself. The icons on the Windows 8.1 Taskbar are called buttons, and once an application is opened, it is represented by the same pinned button on the Taskbar, and this button can then be used to minimize or maximize the currently opened application. If you right-click the button, you will be presented with a menu with other options that you can do with the application.

Here are the steps to open another instance of an application through the Taskbar buttons on Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click the button of the application that you want to open another instance of it, which in this case, right-click the FIREFOX button and choose MOZILLA FIREFOX option.

The Taskbar is now showing two buttons of Firefox stack over another indicating a multiple instance of Firefox application is open.
