Hiding a file will make it invisible where it is located and this is a very good feature to hide important files so that other people will not be able to see or open them, as well as you can prevent them from getting inadvertently deleted. If you hide a file, make sure that you remember its name, its content, and its location because you will tend to forget something that is out of your sight. A hidden file can be opened through the Run box by simply typing its exact path or through its shortcut icon if you created one before hiding it. A deleted file that has a hidden attribute will not be hidden in the Recycle Bin. On the other hand, a hidden file cannot be searched by using the Windows 8.1 Search option. You can view your hidden file again by setting the system to show hidden files and folders.
