The Desktop background otherwise known as the Wallpaper can be changed to different pictures just like your own pictures so that you can personalize it. On Windows 8.1, it is possible to make the Desktop background as a slide of pictures. The Desktop background also consumes system resources even if it just sits there, though not much, but there are times that changing the Desktop background to none will help with the performance of the computer. Using a Wallpaper that is brightly colored seems to be not palatable to the eyesight than those dark colored ones. On Windows 8.1, the colors themes also changes with the Desktop background which is also different from Windows XP.
Here are the steps to change the Desktop background on Windows 8.1.
1. Right-click on a free area of the Desktop and choose PERSONALIZE option.
2. Click on the DESKTOP BACKGROUND link.
3. Click on the picture that you want to be your Wallpaper.
4. Click SAVE CHANGES button.
