Turn Off Internet Explorer 11 Pop-Up Blocker

The Internet Explorer 11 is one of the most used internet browser and it is the default internet browser of the Windows 8.1 operating system which comes preinstalled with it. During the early years of the internet, the capability of the browser to open another window was used extensively by advertisers where they force their advertisements to the users through pop-up windows. Browser designers then also started adding a feature to the browsers to suppress the pop-up advertisements. However, not all pop-up windows are advertisements because there are webpages that were coded to open a new window to accomplish a process. Pop-up windows can be useful on some websites that are for taking surveys, banking, examinations, etc. Depending on the need of the designer or owner of a website, the pop-up windows can be a useful tool to send a message as you navigate through their website so that you do not have to leave the main page that you are viewing. The pop-up blocker of the Internet Explorer 11 in on by default and it might be blocking some important messages from the website that you are viewing. Since the use of pop-up advertisements are now getting less popular, you can consider turning off the pop-up blocker especially if a website requires it so.

Here are the steps to turn off the Internet Explorer 11 pop-up blocker.

1. Click the TOOLS menu on the Internet Explorer 11 toolbar (or click the ALT key of the keyboard then tap the letter T key), click POP-UP BLOCKER option, and then click TURN OFF POP-UP BLOCKER option.


2. Click YES button to turn off the Internet Explorer's pop-up blocker.
