Set Windows 8.1 Control Panel View To Large/Small Icons

On Windows XP operating system, the Control Panel window represents each devices and applications settings as icons and this has changed starting with Windows Vista. With Windows Vista onwards, the selection in the Control Panel is categorized by default but you can still set it to view it with icons instead and this case is the same with Windows 8.1 operating system. If you do not know the in and out of the Windows 8.1 operating system, it is difficult to use the category view of the Control Panel because you do not know where exactly a device or application is categorized. Unlike if the Control Panel is set with icons view, you will be able to see the icon of the device or application you want to work on right then and there. I do not know if what is on the mind of the designers of Windows operating system if why did they categorize the icons instead. It is probably because they are thinking that categorizing the icons will be easier for the user to find what they are looking for but I digress.

Here are the steps to change the Control Panel view of Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click on the START button located in the bottom left corner of the screen and choose CONTROL PANEL option.

2. Click the drop down menu of the "View by:" label and choose either LARGE ICON or SMAL ICONS view.
