The Windows 8.1 operating system has a default "This PC" category of folders, which are the Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos. On a newly installed Windows 8.1, you will be able to view these folder on the right pane of the Windows Explorer. If in case these folders are not showing up on the right pane of Windows Explorer, this means that their view is minimized. Please note that it is not possible to create or add a folder under the "This PC" category but you can create or add as many folders and files in them. The "This PC" is the "My Documents" folder of Windows 8.1.
