Show Volume Mixer Of Windows 8.1

On Windows 8.1 operating system, the Volume Mixer gives you the choice to be able to control the loudness of each applications or programs. In this way, you will be able to adjust the volume of a certain program depending on your need. For example, you can set the loudness of the system sound lower than the Winamp media player so that the alert sounds will not mess up with the music that you are listening to. Or it may be the other way around, in this way, you will not miss any important alerts. This is very helpful especially if you have a messaging service running on your computer, so that you will not miss any important calls. Please note however, that you cannot adjust the loudness of a certain application higher than the speakers' volume. They will always follow the maximum of the speakers' volume.

1. Click the SPEAKER icon located in the System Tray of the Windows Taskbar to show the volume bar. The System tray is usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen where the clock is located.

2. Click the MIXER link to open the Volume Mixer window. From here on, you can use the sliders of each applications to adjust their sound's loudness.
