Adjust Maximum Storage Size Of Recycle Bin On Windows 8.1

The Recycle Bin is the place on Windows 8.1 where the deleted files are directed by default. The reason behind this is for you to be able to have an option to recover the deleted files at a later time in case you suddenly have a need for them for whatever reason, or to recover the files that got inadvertently deleted. You can adjust the maximum storage size of the Recycle Bin to a larger size so that you can continue deleting files without cleaning the Recycle Bin, however, this will of course consume space on your hard drive too. It is also recommended to adjust the size of the Recycle Bin higher so that it can accommodate bigger files just like movie files. If the file that you are deleting, such as a movie file, does not fit into the Recycle Bin anymore, you will be prompted to permanently delete the movie file instead.

1. Right-click on the RECYCLE BIN icon on the desktop view and choose PROPERTIES option.

2. Type the allocation size desired into the "Maximum size (MB):" field box under "Custom size:" of the "Settings for selected location" category.

3. Click OK button.
