Enable Confirm File Delete Of Windows XP Recycle Bin

When deleting files from Windows XP, the file will automatically go to the Recycle Bin by default unless there were changes made in the preferences of the Recycle Bin. If in case the Recycle Bin was set not to put the deleted files in it anymore, and at the same time, the confirmation dialogue box that is asking you if you are sure to delete the file or not was disabled, there will be no more option to restore the deleted file. This kind of setting lessens the things that you have to do because of less clicking and it makes sure that the file will get rid permanently. However, it is recommended to at least enable the confirmation dialogue box that will ask you if you are sure that you want to delete the file or not so that you can cancel the action if you suddenly changed your mind with deleting the file.

Here are the steps to enable the file deletion confirmation dialogue box of the Recycle Bin on Windows XP.

1. Right-click the RECYCLE BIN icon and choose PROPERTIES option.

2. Click the check box that says "Display delete confirmation dialog" to put a check in it.

3. Click OK button.
