Disable Location Bar Auto-Suggest In Firefox 11.0

The locator bar of the Firefox 11.0 browser is the white field box across its toolbar where you type the web address of the website that you want to visit. By default, it will auto suggest the names or web addresses of the websites that you have listed on its Bookmarks or of the websites that you previously visited. This means that every time you type a letter into the locator bar, a pull down menu will appear showing the list of websites that have corresponding letters to either the name of the websites or their web addresses. In this way, you do not have to finish what you are typing and just choose the website on the list that you want to access. However, you have the option to disable the auto-suggest feature if in case you do not want to be bothered with it.

1. Click TOOLS menu on the Firefox 11.0 toolbar and choose OPTIONS.

2. Click the PRIVACY icon across the top of the Options dialogue window.

3. Under "Location Bar" category, click the pull down menu titled "When using the location bar, suggest:", and then choose NOTHING.

4. Click OK button.
