Set Firefox 11.0 To Automatically Clear History After Closing It

The Firefox browser or any browsers will save your browsing history. If you are sharing a computer or you are using a public computer like those in the library or internet cafes, people will be able to know the websites you have been into. You may not think it will pose serious security breach when people see the websites you have been into. This can be true most of the time, but not all the time especially if the websites that you are accessing are websites that require your personal logins. An attacker can piece out every information that he can gather from you to hack on you, this is called social engineering. The Firefox 11.0 will automatically save your browsing history such as "Browsing & Download History", "Form & Search History", "Cookies", "Cache", "Active Logins", "Offline Website Data", "Site Preferences", as well as "Passwords". You can erase those history easily after you used the browser to clear your tracks, but you can set Firefox 11.0 to automatically erase them after you closed it. By setting Firefox 11.0 to automatically erase your browsing history after closing it especially on a public computer, this can assure you that your tracks are cleared after you used the browser. Therefore, you do not have to worry about forgetting to erase your browsing history because they will be automatically erased right after you closed Firefox 11.0.

1. Click the TOOLS menu across the Firefox 11.0 toolbar and choose OPTIONS.


2. Click the PRIVACY icon on the Options window.


3. Click the "Firefox will:" dropdown menu and choose USE CUSTOM SETTINGS FOR HISTORY option.


4. Tick the CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES check box.


5. Then click the SETTINGS button to the right.


6. On the new window, tick the SAVED PASSWORDS, SITE PREFERENCES, and OFFLINE WEBSITE DATA check boxes.


7. Click OK button.


8. Finally, click the OK button of the Options window to save the new settings.
