Set Default Homepage On Safari 5.1.7 For Windows

The default homepage of a browser is set so that the web site that you want to automatically open will load every time you launch the browser. If you frequently visit a blog, or a news site, or a business site, it would be handy if it is those web sites that automatically open every time you launch the browser. Likewise, you can set your preferred search engine web site as the default web site so that you can search the internet right away. However, it is advisable to set a web site that is only light. This means to avoid making a web site the default homepage of your browser that have too much multimedia content like pictures, movies, etc. Because if you do, you will experience slowness every time you open the browser, which will also make the computer eat more system resources. Here are the steps to set the default homepage for Safari 5.1.7 on Windows XP.

1. Click the SETTINGS menu button that looks like a gear located at the top right corner of the Safari window, then click PREFERENCES....


2. Under the GENERAL settings, type http://generalcomputers.blogspot.com/ into the "Homepage:" field box.


3. Click the X button located at the top right corner of the Preferences window to close it, this will automatically save the settings.
