Hide WinAmp Label From Windows XP Taskbar

Most programs that you open in the Windows XP operating system will have their label show up in the Windows Taskbar, and one of them is the WinAmp media player. However, you have the option in WinAmp to hide its label from showing up in the Windows Taskbar. This is a very good option especially for a media player because you can open it, queue up the songs that you want to listen to, then minimize it. In this way, your computer is playing the music while the media player is out of sight even from the Windows Taskbar, away from meddling with the other programs that you have open in the screen that you are working on. You might also be thinking that this is an excellent option if you are at work and your company does not allow you to listen to music while working. Like if you are working in a company where your duty is to receive calls from clients, and while your headset is on your head, you are actually listening to music while WinAmp is hidden from the screen. Be warned that I am not in anyway advising this because you have to be professional enough to focus on your job.

1. Click the slanted X icon in the top left corner of WinAmp, click on OPTIONS, then click on PREFERENCES... option.

2. Under the General Preferences of the left pane, click the "Taskbar" option that is under the "Show WinAmp in:" category of the right pane to remove the check in the box.

3. Click CLOSE button.

The WinAmp label is not showing up anymore in the Window Taskbar whether WinAmp is up in the screen or it is minimized.
