The OpenOffice 3.4.0 Writer has various tools, which one of them is to count the words that you have typed. Why would you want to count that words that you typed? This answer of course depends on the task that you want to accomplish. Maybe, you are composing a report for your technical writing assignment and your report requires a minimum number of words for it to qualify for submission to your teacher. Another area where the word count of OpenOffice Writer is useful is to count the e-mail addresses that you have in your Address Book. It maybe that your Address Book already have a feature to show if how many e-mail addresses that you already have in the list, but if somehow this feature is not available on your Address Book, you can simply copy and paste all the e-mail addresses from your Address Book to the OpenOffice Writer and let it do that counting. Another use of the word count is if you are making a table of keywords of many columns. There you are having a collection of keywords and you want to know if how many keywords that you have so that you will know if how many rows per column that you need to create. For example, you used the OpenOffice Writer to count the keywords and found out that you have 64 keywords. You can now decide that you can create four columns with sixteen rows each. You are doing this because you want to evenly distribute the keywords in each columns, thus, your table will look orderly.
