Starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced the Windows Sidebar. It is a vertical window with transparency that is defaulted to appear in the right side of the screen that you can customize to show the gadgets that you always want to see like the Time, Calendar, Stocks, so forth and so on. You can also add other gadgets to the Windows Sidebar other than the preloaded gadgets that originally came with it when you installed Windows Vista. The Windows Sidebar is a beautiful and or a decorative window in the screen but the usefulness of it already depends on the need of the user.
1. Click START button and click ALL PROGRAMS menu.
2. Click ACCESSORIES menu.
3. Click WINDOWS SIDEBAR to launch it.
The Windows Sidebar will now open the right side of the screen by default and this can be changed through the Control Panel.
