Enable Pop-Up Blocker In Internet Explorer 8.0

There are web sites that has other windows that are automatically opening when you access them, and they are called pop-up windows. These windows are usually small and are commonly advertisements. They are like child web pages that just suddenly pops out from the parent web page. Since the advent of the pop-up advertisements, there were a lot of people who are annoyed with the method of delivering the advertisements through the pop-up windows because they block the web page that you are purposely viewing. Other than that, there are web pages that childs more than one pop-up windows which makes it even more irritating. Likewise, the pop-up windows are slowing the computer basically because it is another task for the computer to accomplish, and this has become cumbersome especially the time when these pop-up advertisements previewed at the time when dial-up was still the common method of internet connection.

Because of these pop-up advertisements, many browser developers started to incorporate features in the browser to block pop-up windows. And other software developers also created software that can block pop-up windows.

Here are the steps to enable the pop-up blocker of Internet Explorer 8.0 on Windows 7.

1. Click the TOOLS menu located on the top right area of the Internet Explorer 8.0 and choose INTERNET OPTIONS.


2. Click the PRIVACY tab.


3. Put a check in the little check box for TURN ON POP-UP BLOCKER by clicking on it.


4. Click OK button.
