Clear Browsing Data In Google Chrome 7.0.517.44

If you installed an older version of the Google Chrome, like for example the Google Chrome 3.0.195.38, it will automatically update itself in the background to make sure that the browser is fully up to date with security features. It will update itself whenever it detects a new version is available and you will not see any sign that it is updating except that you will notice that your internet connection has become slower. There are ways to disable the automatic update of the Google Chrome so that the decision to update the browser will be upon your discretion.

If your Google Chrome updated from 3.0.195.38 version to 7.0.517.44 version, you will notice that on the older version, there are two buttons on the top right area, which are a paper and a wrench that is facing to the right. After the update, you will now only have a wrench that is facing to the left. And the Bookmarks icon, which is a star, is now located on the right side of the web address box. And the GO button on the end of the web address box, which is an arrow pointing to the right is gone. And still in the web address box, there will be a globe icon next to the URL that will give you the "Security Information" window when you clicked on it.

On the Google Chrome 7.0.517.44, the browsing data that you can clear are still the same as in the Google Chrome 3.0.195.38 except the "Delete cookies" option of the old version is now "Delete cookies and other site data" on the new version. The steps to clear the browsing data are still very much the same as in the older version except that it is one step more.

You should clear the browsing data after using a public computer to make sure that any personal information that got saved when you were using the web will be erased because you might not have been aware that the browser was set to automatically save passwords and form data. Other than for security purposes, clearing the browsing data will make your surfing faster and it will free up more disk space. It is a good thing to have a security software installed on the computer to protect itself and you, however, your safe internet surfing practice is still your best protection.

Here are the steps to clear all of the pertinent browsing data in Google Chrome 7.0.517.44.

1. Click the wrench icon on the top right area of the Google Chrome and choose TOOLS, then click CLEAR BROWSING DATA....

NOTE: You can actually access this "Clear Browsing Data" window faster by using the keyboard shortcut keys of Ctrl+Shift+Del.

2. Make sure to put a check in each of the check boxes for the "Clear browsing history", "Clear download history", "Empty the cache", "Delete cookies and other site data", "Clear saved passwords", and "Clear saved form data" options.

3. Set the "Clear data from this period:" to EVERYTHING.

4. Click the CLEAR BROWSING DATA button.
