Access Google.com USA Home Page

Years before when Google.com was just starting, no matter what country you access the www.google.com, it will take you to the original Google.com home page. Then suddenly this changed, meaning, if you are in Spain and access www.google.com, it will automatically take you to the www.google.es, which is in Spanish. Likewise, if you access www.google.com in Germany, it will automatically take you to the Google Germany. This behavior has nothing to do with your browser, operating system, nor your ISP but it is Google's fault. Google will automatically convert the Google's home page to the designated Google home page of the country where you are accessing www.google.com. This localization idea of Google is really painful as it will give you limited access to the information you need because the search result from Google.com is different from the search result of the localized version. It is not also right for Google to think that whoever access www.google.com in a certain country does understand the language that is being used in the localized Google home page.

For example, if you are an American who travel in many different countries with your laptop and visited Japan, and connect your laptop to their internet connection there and access www.google.com, it will take you to the Japanese version of Google in which you cannot even understand the writing in the first place, what more with the language.

To fix this, or should it be better said as a work around to this, you can access the IP address of Google.com instead by typing http://74.125.127.100/ into the web address box of your browser and hit the Enter key of the keyboard and it will directly take you to the Google.com USA home page just like the way it was. Maybe you'll complain that it is hard to remember those numbers, and yes, you did. If you really use Google.com as your tool in searching the internet, and if you really like Google.com that much, you can simply set the IP address as the default homepage of your browser. In this way, it is the Google.com USA home page the one that will automatically open every time you launch your browser. If you do not want to have a different default home page for your browser other than the one you already have, you can save the http://74.125.127.100/ IP address of Google.com into your browser's saved favorite web sites since most browsers now have this space for such purposes.

Here is an example using the Firefox 3.6.10 browser.

1. Type www.google.com into the web address box and hit the ENTER key on the keyboard while in Spain.

2. You will automatically get the Google Spain.

3. Type http://74.125.127.100/ into web address box and hit the ENTER key on the keyboard while in Spain.

4. You are now in Google USA home page.
