Optical Drive Is Not Showing In My Computer

The optical drives are the CD drive or the DVD drive, and lately the BD drive because they use the light technology to read on discs. The optical drives usually shows as CD Drive (D:) or DVD Drive (D:) or what have you in the My Computer window. The Windows operating system usually name any optical drive with the letter D. There are times that the optical drive of the computer is not showing in the My Computer window. However, the optical drive is working because it can eject its tray and pull it back when you press the eject button on the optical drive. It's LED light is also responding if you insert a disc, however, the computer will not read any disc that you insert into the optical drive. And of course, you cannot view the contents of the disc that you inserted because the optical drive is not showing in the My Computer window in the first place.

And one time, I ended with this kind of problem where the DVD+/-RW connected to the computer is not showing in the My Computer window and it will not read any disc that is inserted. When I go to the Device Manager, I see the DVD drive, which is the TEAC DVD+-RW DV-W28SV, has an exclamation (!) mark on its small icon. I opened the casing of the computer, pulled out the DVD drive, and reconnected its data and power cable making sure that they are firmly connected. Then test the DVD drive if it can now read any disc but to no avail.
