Open Links In Another Window Or Tab

Do you have a slow internet connection? Or, maybe you are still using a dial-up connection. Now a days, broadband high speed internet connection has virtually replaced the dial-up connection and the latter has becoming more and more a thing of a past. Broadband has come in many ways like DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) that passes through the DSL capable telephone lines, cable that uses the cable television coaxial, T1 that is usually being used on big companies, as well as wireless connection.

Websites are now so designed for high speed connections, and of course, web page designers would not like to be left out designing purely text based web pages only. They also want to put colorful animations, pictures, and movies, as well as other amazing widgets that can be put onto a web page. And all of these were made possible by broadband connection, which is now the in-thing.

But wait, dial-up connection is still somehow reliable especially if you just need it for e-mail purposes, at least for now.

With regard to surfing the web, having dial-up connection is definitely not the type of connection that you need. However, if you still have dial-up connection, which unfortunately is the only thing that is available in your area, there is a simple trick that you can use on your browser to make surfing the web a little lesser pain.

When you open web pages, you will always run into "hyperlinks" (or simply called "links") that is linked to another web page. You just simply click on the link, which is usually an underlined word or words in blue color to open the linked web page.

When you click on links, it will usually replace the current web page that you are viewing. And if you want to go back to that first page that you were viewing a while ago, you will click the BACK button of the browser to go back to it, but the pain here is that you have to reload the same page again which will take time. What if you clicked on many links and you want to go back to a previous page or pages? You have to keep on clicking the BACK button and reloading the same pages over and over again. Isn't that is very time consuming most especially if you have dial-up connection?

The good news is, you can open web pages in another window or tab (which developers are not incorporating in new versions of browsers) so that you do not have to keeps on clicking the BACK button and keep on reloading the same web pages. In this way, if you just want to go back to the previous pages, you just find it among the windows or tabs that you already opened.
