Use Google Speed Test To Check Download & Upload Speed Of Internet Connection

There are a number of websites that offer internet connection speed test and one of them is Google and they are pretty accurate in providing the result. Google is actually partnered with M-Lab (Measurement Lab) to provide the testing, an open source project with contributors from different organizations and institutions. The speed test measures your internet connections' download and upload speed as well as the latency. The download speed is how fast you can download files to your computer such as movies, songs, pictures, and webpages. The upload speed is how fast you can upload files to a server or post pictures to social media platforms. The latency is how fast you can communicate to a server which is very important for real time applications like chat, video calls, and online gaming. The test will capture your IP address and test result which will be sent to M-Lab for research.

Here are the steps to run an internet connection speed with Google service.

1. Go to www.google.com using your preferred browser.

2. Type internet speed test into the Google's search box. Hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.

3. Click the RUN SPEED TEST button.
