The Task View button that is located in the Windows Taskbar will open the Timeline or Activity History when clicked. The Timeline will show the history of the files that you opened in a chronological manner. You can remove any history in the Timeline, or clear them by date, or clear everything in it. The Timeline does not have a button to clear all of them but to go through the Settings panel. For privacy reason, it is highly recommended to clear the Timeline after use even if you are the only one who is using the computer because you can never know when someone might peek on it.

Here are the steps to clear/erase the Task View history (Timeline, Activity History) on Windows 10 operating system.
1. Right click on the START button that is usually located at the bottom left corner of the screen and click on SETTINGS option.
2. Click the PRIVACY category.
3. Click the ACTIVITY HISTORY on the left pane.
4. Click the CLEAR button under the "Clear activity history" category.
5. Click the OK button to confirm the clearing of the activity history.
6. Click the X button located at the top right corner to close the Settings panel.
