Turn Off User Account Control Notification On Windows 8.1

The Windows 8.1 operating system has a security feature to notify you when a software is trying to make changes to your computer. For example, if I try to open the WinRAR software installed on the computer, the User Account Control notification will appear with the question, "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?", and presented with a Yes or No buttons. This security feature will protect your computer from malicious programs but it can be annoying every time you open a software that you know very well. If you know the software that you are downloading and installing on your computer are safe, you can opt to turn off the User Account Control notification.

Here are the steps to turn off the User Account Control notification on Windows 8.1 operating system.

1. Right-click on the START button that is usually located at the bottom left corner of the screen and click on CONTROL PANEL option.

2. Click the SYSTEM AND SECURITY link.

3. Click the CHANGE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL SETTINGS link under the "Action Center" category.

4. Drag the slider by using the mouse to the lowest level.

5. Click the OK button.

6. Click YES button.
