The Windows operating systems automatically starts some programs when you turn on the computer so that these programs will be able to process the tasks they were intended for and so that you can utilize them right away. These programs that were set to automatically start are called start up items. You can also set by yourself programs and files that you want to automatically start and or open respectively so that you can start your work right away. You can set as many programs to start right away after turning on the computer but do not do it to the point that this will make the computer become slower because each and every programs that are open shares a slice of the system resources. If you are into music, you can set your favorite music player to automatically start right away.
Here are the steps to set the Winamp MP3 player to automatically start after turning on the Windows 8.1 computer.
1. Right-click on the WINAMP icon that is on the desktop view and choose COPY option.
2. Right-click on the START button that is usually located at the bottom right corner of the screen and choose RUN option. (Alternatively, you can press down the WINDOWS key that is in between the CTRL and ALT keys of the keyboard, while pressing it down, hit the letter R key.)
3. Type shell:startup into the "Open:" field box. Click the OK button. The Startup window will open.
4. Click the PASTE icon that is on the ribbon strip of the Startup window.
5. Click the X button located at the top right corner. The Winamp MP3 player will now automatically launch every time you turn on the computer.
