Restore Old Firefox Data To Newly Installed Mozilla Firefox 79.0

The Mozilla Firefox software is one of the best web browsers for Windows computers; it is secure, easy to use, and easy to troubleshoot as well. The Mozilla Firefox software will create a new folder on the desktop view called Old Firefox Data when you refresh/reset it or when you uninstall it. The Old Firefox Data folder contains a backup of your old profile folder and its contents. The old profile folder includes copies of your personal data, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions which can be used to restore them to newly installed Mozilla Firefox software. This can be done by copying all the files inside the old profile folder and transfer them to the new profile folder of the new installation. Basically, you are replacing the new profile files with the old ones that have your information.

Here are the steps to restore the old profile files from the Old Firefox Data folder to the newly installed Mozilla Firefox web browser version 79.0 for Windows. The steps are just the same or similar to fairly older or newer versions.

1. Right-click on the OLD FIREFOX DATA folder that is on the desktop and click on OPEN option. (Alternatively, you can double-click the OLD FIREFOX DATA folder to open it.)

2. Right-click on the 78aacdwk.Default User folder and click OPEN option. The name of the 78aacdwk.Default User folder here can be different in your case but they follow same pattern in naming which you can easily figure out. (Alternatively, you can double click on the 78aacdwk.Default User folder to open it.)

3. Click the SELECT ALL icon that is on the ribbon strip to highlight all files. (Alternatively, you can press down the CTRL key on the keyboard and hit the letter A key.)

4. Click the COPY icon that is on the ribbon strip. (Alternatively, you can press down the CTRL key on the keyboard and hit the letter C key.)

5. Click the X button that is located at the top right corner of the 78aacdwk.Default User window to close it.

6. Right-click the new FIREFOX icon that is on the desktop view and choose OPEN option to launch the newly installed Mozilla Firefox web browser. (Alternatively, you can simply double-click the FIREFOX icon or launch it from your Start button or where available.)

7. Click NOT NOW button if presented with the Default Browser message.

8. Click the MENU icon that looks like three horizontal lines on top of each other located at the top right corner of the Mozilla Firefox window, and then click on HELP option.

9. Click TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION option.

10. Scroll down the Troubleshooting Information tab by using the scroller on the right edge of the Mozilla Firefox window until you reach the Profile Folder option.

11. Click the OPEN FOLDER button to open the new profile folder of the newly installed Mozilla Firefox software.

12. Close the newly installed Mozilla Firefox software afterwards by clicking the X icon that is located at its top right corner.

13. Click the CLOSE TABS button if asked to confirm.

14. Click the PASTE icon that is on the ribbon strip of the new profile folder to replace all the files in it. (Alternatively, you can press down the CTRL key on the keyboard and hit the letter V key.)

15. Click REPLACE THE FILES IN THE DESTINATION option if asked to confirm the replacing of the new files with the old files.
