Burn ISO File To Disc On Windows 8.1

Older operating systems did not have the utility to burn files to discs and you need to install a third party disc burner to burn files. Modern operating systems already have a built in utility to burn files to discs with few steps. Though removable storage discs like CDs and DVDs are already losing their sparkle due to flash drives with higher capacities, way easier to use, and more handy to carry; removable storage discs can be still useful for storing operating system installers. They are also still useful for storing files that does not need to be edited and updated from time to time like images and videos.

Here are the steps to burn an ISO disc image file of an operating system to a DVD on Windows 8.1. Your computer must have an optical drive that can burn to blank CDs and DVDs.

1. Insert a blank DVD to the optical drive of your computer and go to the ISO file that you want to burn. In this case, right-click on the WINDOWS_8.1_PRO_X64 disc image file and choose BURN DISC IMAGE option.

2. Click on the tick box labeled "Verify disc after burning" to put a check in it. (This is only optional.)

3. Click the BURN button.
