Enable Battery Saver On Opera Version 68

The Battery Saver of the Opera web browser is another useful feature to utilize that can provide around 35% longer browsing. The Battery Saver is a built-in feature that is why there is no need to install an extension for it. The Battery Saver enables the Opera web browser to use minimal energy by reducing the activity in background tabs, tweaking the video-playback parameters, rescheduling JavaScript timers, pausing plug-ins and by stopping animations. The Battery Saver works better too by enabling the advertisement blocker. On the other hand, it is not advisable to use the Battery Saver if you are playing online games because games do require high energy usage.

Here are the steps to enable the Battery Saver feature of the Opera web browser version 68. The screenshots here shows with the battery inserted to the laptop and the AC Adapter is unplugged.

1. Click the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL icon located at the top left corner of Opera window.

2. Click the SETTINGS option.

3. Click the ADVANCED option on the left pane.

4. Click the FEATURES category.

5. Scroll down the Settings page a little bit by using the scroller bar on the right edge of the Opera window to view the Battery Saver options better.

6. Click the switch labeled "Save battery automatically" to turn it on and the small battery icon at the right end of the search and address field will turn color blue. (Make sure that the switch labeled "Enable battery saver" is turned on too in the first place.)

7. You can also click on the pull down menu of the "Save battery automatically" switch to choose options when to activate the Battery Saver, which in this case, choose AT 50% BATTERY option.

8. Click the X button of the Settings tab.
