Switch On "Do Not Track" Request Of Google Chrome Version 83

When you access websites, your browser will download the constructs of their webpages like cookies, temporary internet files, images, and other browsing data. The websites can track your browsing data for analysis to improve security, provide related content, services, tailored advertisements and recommendations on their websites, and generate reporting statistics. You will see this at work when you see the same advertisements on different websites that you access. When you switch on the "Do Not Track" request on Google Chrome web browser, it will send request to the websites that you access not to collect or track your browsing data for privacy reason. However, the websites can honor your request or simply ignore it which most websites does.

Here are the steps to switch on the "Do Not Track" request of Google Chrome web browser version 83 which is turned off by default, the steps are just the same or similar to fairly older or newer versions.

1. Click the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL icon that looks like three dots arranged vertically located at the top right corner of the Google Chrome window, and then click on SETTINGS option.


2. Scroll down the Settings page by using the scroll bar on the right edge until you reach the "Privacy and security" category.


3. Click the COOKIES AND OTHER SITE DATA option.


4. Scroll down by using the scroll bar on the right edge until you reach the option to turn on the "Do Not Track" request.


5. Click the "Send a "Do Not Track" request with your browsing traffic" to turn on the switch.


6. Click the CONFIRM button.
