The Opera browser software for desktop is one of the widely known browsers which is also based on the Chromium engine, it is fast and built with cool features such as VPN, snapshots, and workspaces just to name a few. Once the browser has been loaded with many features, it has the tendency to become slow because of the workload it has to run in and it will tax the system resources of the computer such as the processor and the memory. The computer will even work harder if you install browser extensions to add more capabilities to the browser. It is alright to install as many extensions to the browser but it is recommended to turn off the ones that you will not use for a long period of time. On the other hand, you can also end task the extensions that are currently running without turning them off from the settings. This means that after you end tasked an extension, it will automatically load again the next time you launch the browser.
Here are the steps to end task a process on the Opera version 68 to make it run faster, the steps are just the same or similar to the newer or older versions.
1. Click the OPERA icon located on the top left corner of the Opera window.

2. Click on the DEVELOPER option, and click on the TASK MANAGER option.

3. Click on the extension that you want to close to highlight it and click the END TASK button. You can end task as many extensions you do not need for the meantime. They will automatically load the next time you launch the Opera browser.

4. Click the X button once done.
