When the browser is new, it runs fast because it is light with only the basic features that you need to browse the internet. As the browser upgrades with new features and capabilities, it becomes bigger where it will require more system resources for it to run as expected. Likewise, once the browser has been around for sometime, there will already be many add-ons or extensions that you can install for it to augment its capabilities or to be able to have features where you can control that way you browse the internet or open webpages. This is now exactly the case for older browsers like the Google Chrome that is why it load and run slower than it used to be, and it will become even more slower if you installed extensions for it. Browser extensions are small programs that the browser will also have to run at the same time therefore giving it more tasks to do. You can think of the extensions as baggage that you load into your car and the weight that you added will slow down the speed of the car. If you installed a lot of extensions on the Google Chrome browser, you can temporarily end the ones that you do not need if you need it to run faster.
Here are the steps to end some task on Google Chrome browser.
1. Click on the CUSTOMIZE AND CONTROL button located on the top right corner of the Google Chrome browser (the button with three dots arranged vertically), choose MORE TOOLS option, then click on TASK MANAGER option.
2. Click on the extension that you want end, you can choose multiple extensions to end by hold and press the CTRL key on the keyboard and click each of the extensions that you want to end. Click the END PROCESS button.
3. Click the X button located on the top right corner of the Task Manager window.
NOTE:
The extensions that you ended will automatically restart once you closed and opened the Google Chrome browser again.
