There are so many beautiful things about computers and one of them is to be able to network them, where multiple computers are connected to each other and communicate. Other than connecting a computer to another computer, you can also connect other hardware like printers, and then share the printer to the network so that other computers can use it to print. This means that all of the computers on a network can share a single printer to print instead of having each computers have their own printers. This is a very practical solution because you can save a lot of money for maintaining only a single printer for all of the computers on a network.
Here are the steps to share a printer on a current profile on Windows 8.1.
1. Right-click on the START button and choose CONTROL PANEL option.
2. Click the VIEW NETWORK STATUS AND TASKS link.
3. Click the CHANGE ADVANCED SHARING SETTINGS link that is on the left side.
4. Under the current profile, which in this case is the Guest or Public (current profile), click the radio dial labeled "Turn on file and printer sharing" that is under the "File and printer sharing" category.
5. Click SAVE CHANGES button.
