Show Touch Keyboard On Windows 8.1

Electronic devices like tablets and smart phones uses touchscreens as the main input device and they are also becoming part or feature of laptops. Since tablets and most smart phones does not have a keyboard, their operating systems provides an emulation of the keyboard that appears in the screen where you can type. On Windows 8.1, the on -screen keyboard is built-in for use with computers that have touchscreen feature especially those laptops that can be converted into a tablet computer. Though the touch keyboard is not useful on laptops and desktop computers, it can be helpful if in case the keyboard of the computer got broken and you can use the touch keyboard for emergency purposes.

Here are the steps to turn on the touch keyboard on Windows 8.1.

1. Right-click on a free area of the Taskbar and choose PROPERTIES option.


2. Click the TOOLBARS tab.


3. Click the check box for "Touch Keyboard" to put a check in it.


4. Click OK button.

The touch keyboard icon will appear in the right part of the Taskbar and clicking it will show the touch keyboard in the lower part of the screen.
